When you plug your Vodafone Mobile Broadband USB Stick into a USB socket on your Windows 8 computer or tablet, Windows will usually recognise it and open a mobile broadband connection as soon as possible.

In addition, we also offer a Vodafone app specifically for Windows 8, which you can download from the Microsoft Store.

Plug your USB Stick into your computer, run the installer that appears and follow the on-screen instructions. This will allow Windows 8 to manage your USB Stick, and you can then also download and use the Vodafone Mobile Broadband app for Windows 8 from the Microsoft Store.

Plug your USB Stick into your computer, run the installer that appears and follow the on-screen instructions. These devices will not work with the Vodafone Mobile Broadband app for Windows 8 from the Microsoft Store.

Notes:
Some notebook computers feature built-in Mobile Broadband data cards and sometimes these devices may not upgrade correctly. If you have a notebook and are having problems with its built-in card, we recommend visiting your computer supplier's website and checking for new drivers.

When installing the Vodafone Mobile Broadband or Vodafone Mobile Connect software from your USB device in order to get Windows 8 to recognise it, you may be prompted to install .Net 3.5.1. Please note that you will need an internet connection for this and the download is quite large.

If you are using a German SIM and installing the Vodafone Mobile Broadband software, you need to disable the optimisation feature, as this is not compatible with Windows 8. During installation, choose "Custom Install" and de-select the Optimisation option.
